Fillers

As we age, our skin loses its tone, texture, and elasticity. Fine lines and wrinkles, telltale signs of skin damage and aging, develop around the corners of the mouth and the lips.

These are the lines that can be corrected with injectable implants also known as dermal fillers. The most effective and safe family of products currently used are Hyalouronic Acids called HA’s. Different manufacturers make HA’s (Restylane, Perlane, Juverderm) all of which have different flow characteristics and placement methods. All are temporary with the effects lasting approximately six months.

Properly placed beneath the surface of the skin, dermal fillers can smooth wrinkles and add definition to the lip border, eliminate smile lines, and minimize so-called nasolabial folds and marionette lines. The effect is volume restoration to the aging face and a more even skin surface and an overall healthier appearance.

If you are taking aspirin, multi-vitamins, vitamin E, or anything that promotes bleeding, you should discontinue it five days prior to the treatment with fillers to avoid bruising.
